Are you using a phone that was made for the US market? Phones designed for overseas markets may not work with the MJ.

Click on the menu button of the softphone. A drop down menu will appear, choose volume and adjust the slide bars to the desired volumve for earpiece and microphone. Some people have reported getting echoing problems if the volume is turned too high. Good luck.

I believe you are correct in your assumptions. The number on you cell caller ID will be your MJ number. To call forward go to mymagicjack by clicking the 'my' button on the softphone and set up forwarding. Your MJ does not need to be on for the forwarding to function. Good luck.

MJ calls to Canada are also free of long distance charges. So, no, neither your family nor you have to pay long distance charges. Your family calls the NJ number associated with your mj = no long distance. MJ forwards to Canadian number= no long distance charges.

Makes no sense. If you can call from a cell phone to your MJ, then you can call your MJ from a landline. Have you called the landline provider to have them check the call for you?

check with Bellsouth and AT&T to make sure that they show your MJ exchange as active. The local carriers sometimes do not know when a new exchange has been made active if it isn't one of theirs.

I don't even think there is a Tucson proxy. I think we use the Phoenix proxy. Have had no such echo problems in the last 8 months that I have been using mu MJ in Tucson. Sorry it didn't work for you.

When you open the volume control in the softphone, what device does it list as the speaker/earpiece ,etc.? It should say usb phone device or somesuch.

The above responders are correct. MJ support has no idea what they are talking about. Call the local phone provider . They would be the ones charging LD, not MJ. ANytime you can 7 digit dial it is not long distance.

Is your machine set to boot from a cd before it starts from the hard drive? Your machine may be seeing MJ as a cd and is trying to boot from it but of course it is not a bootable drive. If that is the case then reset the order for bootable devices in your setup. Good luck.
