CID on intel Mac
Does anyone have CID on their phone yet with a Macintosh Intel, I get it on the computer but not on the telephone.
Nope
Just got my magic jack and noticed the same thing on my iMac and when using it on my MacBook. Since mine is strictly a business line, it doesn't bother me at the moment as I'm pretty much always sitting in front of the machine.
I may decide to replace my normal home phone with one of these, but if I do that I'll build a dedicated small PC to run it instead of using one of my Macs.

I only get Caller ID on the Mac, not on the telephone itself.

No CID on Mac Version: Read my interaction with Support
I chatted with 2 levels of support, tier 2 stated the web says no caller ID for Macs, when I asked where, they pointed me to the general KB...... Not sure if its ever coming or not for us mac users, some publications from them would be nice...

This might help.
This little $5 device will allow caller ID to work on your phone that is hooked to your magic jack.
Enjoy.

CID on Mac with resistor fix
Hi, Has any one tried the resistor fix on a mac? I have sent for the http://www.magicjackcallerid.com/ and will post back.
Thanks
Thanks
Resister does not help with CID
I have received the resister kit. Installed it yesterday. It was worth a shot for $5.50.
Yours is working? I just got mine in the mail too and it's not functioning. I have it plugged into the wall outlet, with a Y adapter coming off of it. One cord goes to my phone that has caller ID. The other wire hooks into magic jack. I know the setup is ok as I can place calls from other phones in the home. The CID just isn't working.
Thoughts?

CID - Please complain to help them speed up the development
If more people complain about the lack of CID support for Mac's.
The sooner we will see a new Mac firmware update.
Please help us to push them. Ask the tech support where the update is.
I have been asking them for over a year. I hope I am not the only one.

MagicJack does not send CID information
I am a phone man. I have hooked my testset up to my MagicJack and have audibly confirmed that no Caller ID information is sent when connected to an iMac regardles of whether a resistor is present or not.
The same test done on my PC produces the CID information after the first ring.
I have successfully connected my house wireing from my Win XP PC based MagicJack:
1) to my Brinks Alarm, then split out 3 ways:
2) back to my PC computer's internal FAX modem (same computer as MJ) and out from there to a 3 Handset Panasonic KX-TG5243 Phone. This PC and my Dry Looped DSL Modem have power backup so I won't lose service immediately in a power outage.
3) out to my Dish Network Box to order Pay Per View Movies.
4) out to a second wall phone in the kitchen
With the PC everything works great, and no resistor is needed for CID.
I also run an HTTPS Web Server and a File server on the same PC.

MagicJack does send CID information on virtual PC on iMac
Well, I wanted to find out a little more. So, I hooked up my test set to my MagicJack running in a virtual Windows Vista Machine using VMware's Fusion on my iMac, and guess what... CID workes! So, neither is this a Macintosh USB nor MagicJack hardware problem. It definitely is some kind of a software related issue.
With the MagicJack you'll only get out whats been programed into it.
The advertisement said Mac & PC compatible.
I hope the MJ people are listening and will fix this.

Yeah, I don't think the resister fix has anything to do with making CID work on a Mac. My CID works fine on the PCs, but plugging into Mac it doesn't. The resister fix might work if the mJ NEVER showed CID on PC or Mac, but if it already works on PC, it's not that problem.
Would be nice if it worked, though!
