I would like a device that would connect to the secured wireless network on campus and has a phone jack. Some way to avoid having the computer on all of the time, but I do not have a network jack in the room. I can get the SIP info needed but need guidance on the hardware and software needed. Just something cheap. A couple of devices would be ok, but simple and low cost. Any ideas?

Thanks!

Run a thin client like the HP t5710/t5720 with a Majic Jack and a USB wifi adapter like this -

http://cgi.ebay.com/USB-54Mbps-WiFi-802-11g-b-Wireless-LAN-Network-Adapter-/280547145220?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0

Allows you to tap the wireless network and plug a phone(s) into the phone jack. (Be aware, MJ over wifi has unpredictable results sometimes but some have had good results.) Thin clients only draw a few watts. Not a whole lot more than a night light or two.
