I just tried to call it from SKYPE..
i get the message about trying magictalk, and then i get this message:

If you don't have your DSL modem set to high security then it should work out of the box, but you may have more problems with Trojans and the like.

note I am verizon as well with westel modem. I run the modem as bridge connection and use netgear wireless as the router.

Hmmm, probably a catch 22 for you. With Paypal, you need a credit card to generate a disposable credit card. Maybe you can open a Paypal account with a debit card? Do a search to find out.

I have run magicjack on a celeron 566 mhz with 512 mb of memory with xp pro.
it worked.
it was a laptop.
it was hardwired to my router.
