Update:
Resolved!
As I mentioned in the previous post - I called MJ's Live Chat support, and asked them to remove the Apple device from the account - which they did - a short while later I received a confirmation email. I logged in using an Android device and all's good.
Very simple to do and the support staff were excellent to deal with. Just needed to verify the address on the account and it was done instantly!
