This is from 2008 but I know there is a more detailed post about it but I am unable to find it.

Visually it is just about impossible to tell the difference between the 3rd generation magicJack USB dongle and the new 4th generation magicJack USB dongle.
You can however tell by the device line up on you computer. Go to Start/Computer.
If you ONLY see a magicJack CD drive added and you DO NOT ALSO see a magicJack removeable flash drive added in the list of available devices, you have a 4th generation magicJack USB dongle with the new 780 chip (and without the circa 18MB of flash memory). |

I guess a good thing as one thing less to go bad, sans flash???

Thanks for that! (and the 1st person to reply to me!)
I thought something was wrong because I didn't have both the CD and removable drives, but I guess it's because I have the new one since there are no problems(except called ID, which I am working on). |
