there multiple pauses lasting anywhere from 2-5 minutes between every let me check on that type response - total time was over 1 hour for this chat - there is no call forwarding avail on either phone - So was all lies and BS, never mind total waste of time. I am now considering other viable options and seeing how I just paid for last phone service update for year - where they also lied costing me extra and bought another and had to go through this BS more than once, I would rather find another viable option and will be seeking full refund for both these magic jacks (only excluding stolen 3rd one) Any recommendations for similar price or anything less than cell phone or standard land lines would be greatly appreciated!

For the person who has a life, as if the rest of us don't, the conclusion is at the end in one short paragraph. To reiterate I am looking for a viable option to replace my magic jack with and will be seeking a full refund for both units and payments made in advance for services!

Any suggestions that do no involve the use of cell phones or standard land lines at their standard high rates would be appreciated, I would especially like to hear from other people who actually have used and or are current users of similar internet phone product, excepting Vonage - (Tried before and they were at that time using same sales tactics and average con artists and the sound quality on both ends was unbelievably bad). I receive low income disability payments so cost is a major considering factor. I currently have 3MBit internet speed and I am looking for service that includes 911, call forwarding, call waiting, good quality reception on both ends, being able to call anyone in U.S. for flat monthly or yearly charge and voice mail as minimum requirements. Under $10 per month is target.

I, like everyone else, fell asleep after scrolling for 5 minutes before I got to the last paragraph.

You just might get more responses to an alternative to MJ in the alternatives to MJ section of this very forum.

Problem is now 1/2 resolved, one tech got my previous magic working with call forwarding, used today with no problems; new one is pending decision(s) on upper management's part! So still a good value, best in my almost humble opinion thus far. I was upset but now am happy. So I wish you all a wonderful day and a glorious life worth living Smile

I would look for a different company. I switched to netTALK but there are a number of BETTER solutions out there if you dont like netTALK. I would leave MagicJack as quickly as possible. Their business practices are very fishy lately. I have been with them since 2007 and just left. Look I am the second member on this forum. I am here to warn people to RUN!

When they bring back call forwarding they are going to charge you for EACH phone number you forward. $20/year for only 500minutes of forwarding a month. If you decide to leave and port your numbers a way DO NOT PAY MAGICJACK THE $30 DOLLAR PORT OUT FEE. The number WILL be ported anyway.

Sounds like all of us average MJ users. You either love it or hate it, frequently in the same 24 hour period.

My subscription is done in less than a week after 3 years. I'm gonna miss it, although I have a feeling I will miss it like I miss a recent cold sore that would never seem to go away.

Do a google search for voip... There are other units out there... Nettalk for one as well a few others
