Lets brake it down shall we

I am running Debian (sidux.com)
Lets brake it down shall we

I am running debian (sidux)

after the magicjack gave me the message to plug it in then it opened the web page on my firefox (iceweasel in debian1)

Now I imagine I will have to define the device so that the magicjack software will recognize the unit is plugged in.. not sue how to do that.. any one? cause everything else seems to work.. to this point..

nope..
sda1 got the regular boot screen.. but it dies telling me to plug in my magic jack
here is the logs from wine
note had to post this whole msg in parts cause code tag does not allow me to post anything with a percentage symbol in it.. took me a bit to figure that out.. so just note I removed the two percent symbols from this code

I guess you will all have to wait till i read up on devices in wine configuration and figure out under windows what the program looks for to tell if the device is plugged in...

Xp fresh on new or old hardware is way to unstable.. sorta wish the boyz over at MJ would of been smart enough to use a multi OS compiler or at least something made by the people for the people GPL type compiler.. I find it hard to believe if it works under MAC that it can not work under linux.. if anything if they based it on linux first would of been a heck of allot easier to port to both

Unless someone is already familiar with this?

You know cough cough already works on the development team.. cough.. Its flu season you know..

Would sure make the basics allot easier.. then I can look into making sure the on hook and touch tones work with the similar open source for this technology..

Open source works good when there is allot of people involved sorta takes forever when its just one person and a whole heck of alot of people who have no idea whats going on..

i got magic jack working without dunge in windowsxp and ubuntu as vbox win7
i use my laptop as a phone

now i also got magicjack working under wine

but under wine i have no audio devices.
magicjack can still call and receive.

any subjections?

i would prefer to use under wine because the Vbox sound is very choppy
and i refuse to boot up in windows everytime i need to make a call

Inquiring minds want to know (in detail) the steps you used to pull this off. Magicjack under Wine has been elusive.

Thanks,
Jim

Seconded. Someone on this forum claimed a year or so ago that they had it working under Wine but never said anything about it again.

i copied all the files including hidden files to a ssd chip

so i can load magic jack on any windows computer without the dunge

then i copied the same files to WINEs C :\ file
i then use wine to run STROTHS MAGICJACK SUIT
then i had to set up all the file locations in stroths to c:/
then i click the start magic jack button on stroths

and magicjakc comes up just like on windows but i get an error saying no audio device

i understand this to be a common WINE issue
iv tryed oss alsa in wine same error
