Alot of people are using the Hawking Broadband HBB1 booster including myself with fantastic results. However i notice alot of people are having trouble finding them or are paying near $80.00 for them or more. I don't sell them however i do business with the electronic industry in california. If your looking to buy a brand new retail Hawking Broadband HBB1 Booster this company i know has 2,000 of them in stock. Below i will post there URL and there land line. The price this company sells them for is $40.00

I've bought from Hawking before, and found them reliable, particularly with respect to honoring their warranty.

Installed the Hawking this morning, made a couple of calls and what a difference. Really noticeable difference in audio quality. None of the normal background noise. Well worth the $40.... I did still get the MJ Screech though. Oh well you can't have everything. |

Will MJ ever solve the "screech" problem? |

I wish they would, it really freaks me out because it always happens when I least expect it. It's funny though, I've "converted" my better-half and quite a few neighbours over to the MagicJack side and none of them get the screech.... |

Well im another one....I have no screech what so ever. Just pure loud clean audio and on TestYourVOIP.com my score is always 4.4, Im on roadrunner otherwise known as Brighthouse here on west coast. But im perfect since day one and thats 5 months ago. Im running the fastest Intel Processor and 4 gigs RAM with Vista Preminum and my old lady has the phone down her throat 20 hrs a day all over the country and never a problem. I know by default im goinmg through the Tampa Bay server. But you can't tell im on a magicJack...One more thing my MJ is'nt even near my computer because im using a powered USB Hub and the MJ is like 4-5 ft away from the computer as its plugged into the Powered Hub not the computer. And i built the small resistor Caller ID box also. I have a AT&T 5.8GHZ wireless phone with two non bases which makes 3 phones hooked up to it and i have one wired late 80's AT&T push button desk phone thru a splitter making 4 phones on one line and all good. No noise here. Only noise you will hear gere is if i put you on hold you will hear the music until i take you off hold. |

You lucky, lucky ba.......... It's just so strange that some folks get it consistently and others never get it at all. Must be a hardware issue. Hey I'm an ex-software guy, what do you think I'm going to put the blame on.... |

How do I decide if my system needs this device? I'm connected directly to the computer via a cable modem, no router. OS=WXPSP2. |

Sligg, it's a tough call.... The booster gives priority to VOIP, Webcam etc network packets so the transmission of data for those devices takes priority over your web-surfing data. I have the MJ running on a HP thin client that does nothing else and I had some calls where people said there was "background noise" and on some calls I could also hear noise. So I read a few posts on here about the booster and thought for 40 bucks why not give it a try. For me it has made a difference to the audio quality. I know from other posts I've seen it made no difference. If you're having audio probs then maybe it would be worth checking some of the other posts in this forum. There's a hell of a lot of excellent info just takes a while sorting through it all. If those changes don't help then give the Booster a try.... Just my 2 cents worth, it worked for me...... |

Gashliquor, I took a look and now I see what you mean by "reverse engineer" . We used to "reverse engineer" competitors products.
I haven't done any s/w for about 12 yrs now, I do miss it now and then, though I resist the temptation... I spent 16 yrs (showing my age a bit) in design & dev and it got VERY addictive.... |

I will put it to you this way....I buy hardware, I don't buy software period =), Yeah a google search shows me in the warez community since 2000. Im 50 years old and still do it for fun. However the software i go after today is hi end DVD Copying software like AnyDVD, DVDFab Platinum 100% of the time. I have 14 DVD burners that i dumped the software of the eprom chips and changed some speed settings etc and all my DVD's are booktyped DVDROM like commerical DVD's so that they play in any player in the world region free and i use 8.5g blanks because 99% of commerical DVD's are dual layer not to many anymore are single layer. Did'nt stgart with blu-ray yet but the code protection has already been cracked. I use top like players such as denon etc and with the upscaling to 1080i on my HDTV it's awesome. When the price of blu-ray blanks drop to normal in range price i will do that. Anyway i guess your getting the rain and hot weather everyday down south like here. Same thing every year it rains for 10 mins then the sun and heat comes back. I never stopped with the software. when i moved from NY to FL in 93 i got envolved with a warez group and just join other crack and keygen groups and just do it for fun. Here is the latest program i released. Here is the URL and the download is free. With it if you have any DVD Burner you will copy anythingno matter what copy protection.

Gash.. thanks for the link, I'll give it a try. I'm along the same lines age wise, turned 50 last year...
Man, Denon brings back memories, I used to work not too far from their offices back in England, long time ago. They used to make some awesome stereo(hi-fi or whatever the term is these days) systems, not cheap, excellent quality sound. Sounds like your having some fun with it, hey that's what it's all about...have fun.....
Down here we've not had too much rain for the past couple of weeks now, in general we get the half hour rain showers then 10 mins later you wouldn't know it had rained... The joys of FL... |
