magicJack should just make any number that charges an exorbitant termination fee or any conference line numbers as toll or long distance call. They could easily place a disclaimer on any advertisements, marketing materials and product packaging stating something like the following: While magicJack does offer its customers free calls to most numbers in the US and Canada, we do block certain numbers to ensure that we can offer the service as inexpensive as possible. To access a lost of blocked goto our website at www.magicjack.com/blockednumbers for the most recent list of blocked numbers.
This type of strategy will allow magicJack to more than likely adhere to the letter of law and magicJack customers will not feel deceived because a disclaimer was including on all advertisements, marketing materials and product packaging.
