If you have an iPhone, you can download the MagicJack app. You would still need to register the device beforehand though.

There is a cell phone feature but I do not know the requirements. My question is do you need a account or can you use a standard old fashioned cell phone directly with magic jack. I'd like to know more about this feature. a cell phone without using minutes would be great.

A loooong time ago there were some "indications" from MJ that a future MJ would connect directly to your cell phone "in-house". You would be able to make and receive calls to you MagicJack number (in US + CA) for free using your cell phone. Your cell would connect with your MJ inside your house for free.

Read somewhere that cell phone companies objected to this and plans were scrapped......(?)
