magicjack Sip not working

MagicJack SIP is not working with ATA or softphone .

Is it working for others. THe password is not changing but they have done something in the server

Try to change your proxy, and this should resolve the problem.

Example:

proxy1.boston.talk4free.com:5070

Replace Boston with a different city, and you should be up and running.
it worked for me, i hope it will work for you as well

DO MJ block the proxy site from using Adapter. Is that the reason we need to change it

is it easy for them to know that we r using ATA . how we can hide it

AFAIK, I don't think they can since it's just using standard SIP authentication; but I could be wrong.

I had the same thing happen to me. My ATA said it couldn't connect to registration server. I changed the Proxy from Atlanta to something else and back online. I think Atlanta's server went down from being overloaded or something else.

MJ needs to do something about their infrastructure. I keep seeing their commercials/infomercials so I'm assuming they are getting a ton of new subscribers. However, each day that passes my service degrades more and more.

There are several ways that a SIP server can detect an ATA instead of the softphone. The easiest way is to trap the User Agent string. Search for "user agent" for discussions on this. Another easy way is if you accidentally or ignorantly fire up your softphone at the same time your ATA is on line. They'll catch you even quicker if you try to place or receive calls from more than one device at a time.

My experience has shown that they don't bother to "catch" you and noone's been "caught" (yet). It's just not advisable.

That said, in my case, ATA takes precedence. Ive tried simultaneously using softphone without dongle and it works once and not continuously.
