I call it that because we don't know the name of it yet. Anyway, where is it ? Only been waiten bout a year now. I had to renew last month for a year but spoke to to the chat help yesterday and they assured me that I will be able to transfer the remaining months onto the new device.

They didn't know when it was coming out either but said it would be posted on the website, magicjack.com and that all current subscribers will get an email notification. I'm on it when it gets out. I was probably one of the 1st 400,000 or so with the original. I did the 5 yr. plan so I skipped the plus. I'm not going to miss this one and all the products here after.

I'm waiting ! Enough with the suspence already !!

Just gotta wait until they're ready to actually start selling it.

Glad to hear that us current customers will be the first to get a crack at it. However, people like you who have been a MJ customer for a very long time - and who most likely still have call forwarding working on their account - MAY find that when they "upgrade" to the new device that their call forwarding feature disappears in the process... or this may NOT happen - it's completely at the whim of the company and/or its staff...

Also let's hope that us pre-existing customers who do this as a straight "upgrade" - and who consequently will not be getting the 6 months' worth of service that new mj customers will get with the device for $59.95 - will get some sort of break on the price (ideally would be $15 less - so the upgrade should then cost around $44.95).

No. According to the company, it will normally come with only 6 months' service - but at a cheaper retail price than if it came with 12 months of service. And when the mj+ was initially offered to pre-existing customers as a straight upgrade, it came with NO additional months of service (but at a cheaper price, at least when it was initially introduced).

OK, good to know - they are playing & switching numbers, it's a game, confusing customers.
The initial MJ I bought 2007-2008 (?) came with 12 months included, that was the offer for a long time.
From memory, the MJ+ also initially came with the 12 months, but now you say they have reduced that to only 6 months.
No huge surprise I guess, looking at all the other changes / reductions in service they have made......................

They claim they did real-life market research on pricing with the current MJ+ awhile back and claim they discovered that most people preferred to pay less up-front for the device in exchange for a shorter amount of time included in the initial purchase. That's why the new device is expected to retail for less than the current device's price.
