LaserJobs,

Do you know what "FixAudioXP.exe" does?

Regards,

All files are from Microsoft or Magicjack so blame them if your software detects something

I was finally able to get the MJ running on my stock 5700. I did an "Update Driver" of the "USB Internet Phone by TigerJet", and then I pointed the Wizard to the contents of my backed up *.inf files and drivers I got from another regular XP desktop and had MJ running smoothly on it. I used DriverMax to backup the driver with *.inf file as well as I copied over files the Wizard asked for.

When the Update is done, I'm left with 3 "Unknown device" listed in the "Other devices" listing. When that is done, MJ still doesn't work. I have to make a call via the dial-pad. When that's done, I commit and reboot. Upon reboot, MJ works, but I do notice a slight echo, and a slower lag time upon calling a number than I've noticed on my Vista box. Perhaps clearing those "Other devices" might fix this?

Here are those backed up files that I used to update that driver:
http://rapidshare.com/files/139809142/USBAudio.Driver.zip.html . No doubt Matt will find a virus, but AVG doesn't agree, and they are taken from a pretty well locked down and regularly hot-fixed XP Pro machine.

Contents of USBAudio.Driver.zip:

Code:
C:\Users\karen>unzip -l USBAudio.Driver.zip
Archive:  USBAudio.Driver.zip
  Length     Date   Time    Name
 --------    ----   ----    ----
    57297  08-29-02 05:00   USBAudio.Driver\wdma_usb.inf
    59264  08-03-04 23:07   USBAudio.Driver\i386\USBAUDIO.sys
    60288  08-03-04 23:08   USBAudio.Driver\i386\drmk.sys
   140928  08-03-04 23:15   USBAudio.Driver\i386\ks.sys
   130048  08-04-04 00:56   USBAudio.Driver\i386\ksproxy.ax
     4096  08-04-04 00:56   USBAudio.Driver\i386\ksuser.dll
   145792  08-03-04 23:15   USBAudio.Driver\i386\portcls.sys
    48640  08-03-04 23:08   USBAudio.Driver\i386\stream.sys
    23552  08-04-04 00:56   USBAudio.Driver\i386\wdmaud.drv
    82944  06-14-06 02:00   USBAudio.Driver\i386\wdmaud.sys
 --------                   -------
   752849                   10 files

If I could clear the Device manager, this solution would be much more elegant, but I do have MJ working on an HP 5700 256/256 box (even though upgrades are on order Rolling Eyes ).

Matt- I do appreciate ANY warnings that a virus may be present in a file. Don't let some snide remarks stop you from reporting what you find in files that you download. That malware you mentioned I have wrestled with many times on many different machines and it can be a hell of a job to get rid of. There are false positives that do occur, and this may be the case here. What specific file did you download that gave that warning and what antivirus were you using? If you still have that specific file I would love to take a look at it as the original download may or may not have been changed.

booyah5- Why do you feel the need to be so disparaging in your remark about Matt finding a virus? Even if it is a false positive, you could still have been nice about it. If it's not a false positive, then he did you and everyone else who may have downloaded it a favor by mentioning it. I believe that he was probably trying to help you out because he downloaded them to look at them, although I may be wrong.

Other than that nothing to add to this post. Carry on.

EDIT:

LOL- I'm a duma$$, didn't even notice the dates on this. Ok call me names. Anyways I could edit it out so I don't look so stupid, but I'm not really worried about looking stupid, so it stays.
