A new Skype dual mode calling software plugin "Skyjack" for magicJack users has recently been released. The plugin allows magicJack and Skype calls to be placed concurrently from the same regular or cordless phone.
Users of the magicJack can now enjoy the added benefits of Skype including video calling, conference calling and free Skype to Skype user calls worldwide. Skype also provides a great backup or alternative to get through if the magicJack network is not able to connect you for whatever reason.
To place Skype calls just dial * before the number you want to call. Speed dial numbers are available for dialing other Skype users. Regular magicJack calls are placed as normal. For incoming calls, just answer the phone when it rings.
To top it off, magicJack users who have friends or customers that use Skype can receive their calls for free from anywhere in the world.

Skyjack plugin
Is it necessary to be a Skype subscriber to use the Skyjack plugin?
You do need also set up a Skype account at http://www.skype.com ; however, you do not need to deposit any funds to place and receive calls to/from other Skype users. Funds only need to be deposited if you also want to place calls to regular phones.
