siphon for android!

So guys does anyone know if siphon is being ported to the android app market? I loved using mm with siphon on my itouch but i would love being able to use it on my droid. Even if its a paid app i would purchase it, great job done by the devs now that the app is solid port it to droid!

There are currently no solution of running MJMD5 on Android, why no solution is working. Siphon is iphone unique, but there is a similar app called sipdroid. But since there is no MJMD5 solution it wont work with MJ. You can however connect it to GV via SipSorcery/Sipgate and pbxes and thus have free incoming and outgoing calls.

Would like something a lot simpler, I have tried what you suggested and still cannot get sipdroid to connect. xlite works fine on my pc so my credos are right.

If you know any simpler way let me know.

To my knowledge there is no easier way to get free calls on an Android based cellular.

However, there is a more complex solution that might give you the possibility to run MJProxy/MJMD5 on an Android. However, that involves installing Ubuntu (Linux) your phone and run MJProxy on this. This would allow you to run basically any SIPphone solution on the Android as long as you have all your MJ credentials.

Another possibility would be to compile the source code (built in "C") into android application format. This would allow to directly run MJProxy/MJMD5 on an Android device.

Unfortunately, as far as I know, none of these proposed methods has been tested.

I have been running the earlier mentioned method through my GV account (no MJ) for about 2 months know and it works great, even though I only have 3G for the moment.

Dataplan allowing for 4G connection for $60 monthly at Sprint. Once 4G comes to Boston it will allow me to drop my Comcast home connection, since the phone (rooted) also allow for free wireless tethering.

So how do you go about setting up mj with googlevoice to get it to work on android

You can't, for the moment there is no solution for Android. Unless of course you connect to a network running MJProxy, or has a MJ dongle connected.
