This is just a "heads up" that the new 4th Generation magicJack USB dongles are now on store shelves.
The new dongle visually looks pretty much identical in terms of the board layout to the previous generation magicJack USB dongle but it contains the new 780 chip rather than the 580 chip previously used.
The surprise is that the device number still comes up as C200 exactly like the previous generation dongle when looking at the hardware details in the device manager and that is a bit confusing especially when it comes to troubleshooting.
The other key difference is that the circa 18MB of flash drive memory seen on previous versions of the magicJack USB dongle appears to be gone now and the separate flash drive no longer appears in the available devices lineup.
If you are trying Magicfeatures and by chance have one of these brand new dongles be sure you download and install Release 1.11 that contains compatibility enhancements to support the new dongle hardware.
