hi.. is there a way i can restore magicjack to factory settings?
my friend has this problem.. after upgrading her magicjack, she was asked to enter her email and her password. the problem is, she already forgot what email she used during her previous registration. we've tried to format magicjack but then, there is already a phone no. in the verification window, asking for the email add and password that she used in the registration.
so, is there a way i can restore magicjack to factory settings? i.e. for us to undergo the same process the first time we plugged the magicjack (choosing area code, phone no., etc.).. |

If you go to my.magicjack.com there is an option to remind you of your password. It will send something to the email address used when you registered. That might help you identify which address was used. Be sure to check your spam folders.
If that doesn't work, I think your only choice is to contact chat support via the MJ web site. Report back to us how they verified your identity. I'm curious how MJ handles this sort of thing when they don't ask any "secret questions" to serve as a backup to identify people. (Secret questions have their own problems. That's another story. But, I wonder how they handle this without even this kind of personal info.).

No way I'm aware of. They respond immediately. Just not accurately. But, in this case, it's just an administrative question. There shouldn't be six hours of "try this" exercises.
Please try it and let us know how they confirm your identity. I'm really curious how they determine you're you, and it's not me impersonating you.
