The problem concerning being unable to hearing anything with MJ is becoming bigger and spreading with all users.

it seems that all of us having the same problem in many different threads and topics, lets just make one thread so we can collect all the number of users that are having the problem till its fixed. instead of different topics in different threads so we can show magic jack support that its a major problem with their systems and networks so they act faster.

please lets all just post this MAJOR problem in one thread to be able to monitor the problem all the time till its fixed

Congratulations on embarking on such a noble, yet futile, crusade. Wouldn't be so sure anything originating here is going to induce them to work faster.

Here's the situation with MJ tech chat...

Can't hear

Post by jkpwife »

When I make a phone call I hear 2 rings and then silence. The person on the other end answers the phone and can hear me fine. I hang up. Any remedy for this?

Silence

Post by jkpwife »

I don't even hear the 2 rings now. I get the dial tone but after I dial the number...silence. The person on the other end always calls back wanting to know why I hung up.

I'm experiencing the same issue, but only when calling cell phones. The call goes through, but nothing can be heard on the magicJack end.

Pretty much same issue here. I call, I hear no ring and can't hear anyone. This happens with a wired handset, cordless handset and using the mic and speakers on my computer. I only call one area code and mostly cell phones (as most people have made the jump to just cell now). If they call back I can converse with them (they hear me, I hear them) just fine. This has been happening for me since last night around 10PM CST.

Any updates from anyone about this?

<edit>Oh and I've pulled my Linksys router out of the mix and have just the one computer connected directly to Comcast.</edit>

No Rings No Sound

I have a similar issue. I make some calls that are considered local but don't hear any ringing or sound at all. The person I am calling says the call comes through and they hear me but I hang up. The Call registers as active but I can't hear any ringing or the person answering. I am also on Comcast.

Same problem here. I can get a dial tone, I can dial, it rings on the other phone (but I can't hear it ringing on the mj phone), the other person can hear me talking, but I can't hear them. Also, when someone calls into the mj phone, the mj phone rings ok, but I can't hear the person even though they can hear me fine. Note that this only started happening after a power outage earlier this week which shut down the computer (plugged into a surge protector). Changed the phone and same thing occurs. I had been using mj for nearly a year prior to the outage without any real issues other than the annoying delay.

I fixed my problem. I had a bad USB port, likely due to the power outage. Once I plugged it into another port, it worked fine. That's what I get for sending 8 dollars on the surge protector, I guess. :?
